Mrizi i Zanave is a family-run Albanian restaurant in the centre of Tirana, next to the 18th-century Tanners' Bridge, serving since 2004. The kitchen pairs traditional highland dishes made with organic produce from the Albanian Alps with lighter Mediterranean plates, in a stone-and-wood interior finished with artisan pieces from Zadrima, Kruja and Korça.

Why We Love It

Slow-cooked lamb, clay-pot tavë and a board of byrek, cheese and cured meats arrive on red-striped tablecloths in a room that feels like a mountain guesthouse dropped into the capital. The staff take real pleasure in walking you through the menu, and the courtyard is a quiet spot on a summer evening.
