Kapelet is a sprawling hilltop restaurant above Tirana, known for its canopy of thousands of woven straw hats and terraces that look out over the whole city. The kitchen is rooted in traditional Albanian cooking, with cast-iron tavë, grilled meats, byrek and local cheeses served alongside raki and a generous wine list amid banana plants and open-air views.

Why We Love It

Arriving as the sun drops behind the hills, with the city lights coming on below and a spread of cast-iron classics and raki on the table, is pure Tirana theatre. The setting under the woven-hat canopy makes it a destination as much for the view as for the food.
